i’ve been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days so, i put my self under house arrest.  i’m not a good rester.  i suffer from acute schpilkas.  “trapped like a rat in a cage.” (no filter)  i think that line was from a cartoon i watched as a kid.  anyway…..since i was going to be home all day, i decided to do some baking. there is only so much tv a person can watch - only so much time you can spend on facebook and twitter.  this is the cake i made.  the suspicious  little wiggly-looking bits are orange pulp.  it seemed to need a little something more so i gilded the lily w/ a fresh orange glaze. it all started with the peaches and blueberries i had in my frig. i actually managed to find a recipe that incorporated both. i had a good chat with some people on facebook and twitter  today about being an american using an english recipe in sweden. extreme baking. hurray google translate.  the measurements started to get a bit fuzzy at times and i had to wing it on a number of fronts but, i think it turned out pretty good.  i’ll take it to my friends tomorrow and let you know how it went over.  happy sunday.
