greetings!
once again in the parents’ sun room. not much sun today though - a perfectly cloudy, sleepy sunday. i’ve just returned from a morel mushroom foraging trip to northern michigan. (i never claimed to be rock n’ roll.) not a single wild morel was spotted but, we did happen across some for sale at a good price in the local natural foods market. we didn’t return home empty handed - far from it. after about 20 minutes of morel hunting w/out a single sighting, i switched to foraging for wild leeks or ramps as they are called closer to home in west virginia. having a weak attention span and a strong penchant for immediate gratification, i am much better suited to ramp spotting. they were everywhere. now, what to do with all these ramps. when the world gives you ramps…. some suggestions.
the “new” referred to in the title is a new website to go along with my new record, “wreck your wheels”. “wreck your wheels”? i can see you cocking your head in that old rca dog way. it’s the title of one of my favorite songs on the record. it will make sense once you hear the song. the new website will go live - in theory - tomorrow, monday the 17th of may. stop by and say hello. tour dates are posted there and you can have a listen to the new record as well. the record was recorded in nashville at mr. lemons studio with my road band friends as the core group. neilson hubbard produced as well as played in the band. the record is out in the u.k. may 17th and in the u.s. mid sept. i’ll be playing shows in the u.k. and possibly sweden this spring/summer and then coming to the states in sept. if you know of any great small places to play or good house concerts let me know at facebook. we are always open to suggestions. hope to see you out there.
